Vadym Kazulkin is an AWS and Java technologist with a special passion for Serverless, Generative, and Agentic AI.
Vadym was born and grew up in Kyiv, Ukraine πΊπ¦. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
Vadym is an AWS Serverless Hero and Head of Development at ip.labs based in Bonn, Germany. He has been in the tech industry for over 25 years. His current focus and interests include the design and implementation of highly scalable and available applications in the AWS Cloud.
Vadym’s current passions include :
- Serverless applications on AWS in general.
- Optimization of Java applications on AWS Lambda (also utilizing Spring Boot, Micronaut, and Quarkus frameworks) with AWS Lambda SnapStart and GraalVM Native Image.
- Exploring the Amazon DSQL database.
- Generative and Agentic AI (currently exploring the usage of Spring AI and Embabel frameworks on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore).
Vadym is also the co-organizer of the Java User Group Bonn meetup, a frequent speaker at various national and international events, and a regular author of articles in different published and online magazines and on his online blog.
Vadym is husband to Nina and father of 3 wonderful children born in 2006, 2007, and 2017. His two older children (son and daughter) have already finished high school and continue their education. His younger son is very interested in math and software development and is learning Scratch and Python with his father.
Besides tech, Vadym enjoys watching football, biathlon, and darts, and learning foreign languages.
